cheddar chive biscuits
I am team sweet, I love sweet things and sweet snacks. I know, shocking.
These cheddar chive biscuits have been the bestsellers of my last 2 summer menus. And they are brilliantly easy.
If you want to recreate these biscuits…
Use this biscuit recipe. Modifications:
Ingredients: I use 2 tablespoons of sugar, and enough cracks of fresh black pepper for the dry mixture to have a pleasantly peppery smell.
Method: Then, when I turn the dough out, I flatten it, fold it in thirds, flatten again and fold it in thirds another way. This creates some layers and add some tenderness.
Lastly: I don’t have a biscuit cutter, so in order not to seal the biscuit layers (which prevents a better rise) I use a sharp knife to cut 8 rectangular biscuits. And because they’re not round, there is no “scrap dough”. Win-win.
